The recording on the performance page was done by entelechron, Robert Frankenberry - piano, David Russell - cello, and Roger Zahab - violin, in Bellefield Hall Auditorium, Pittsburgh on June 8, 2010. |
Program Notes: | In feeling the need to include everyone involved in the commission I've used three hymns for my source material: Ofertorio Nicaragüense, Blessed Assurance and Amazing Grace. It took quite a bit of working and reworking to make this musically "hyper-texted" piece sing properly, but I hope it will speak in more than one way to nearly every sort of listener. |
