Comments: | for Betty Rieley reminiscence of the Penthouse Suite (the Mini-fridge Aria arranged for piano solo followed by the Male Assistants' chorus in the distance) |
Program Notes: | Barcarolle, well-travelled is an "operatic paraphrase" of the famous moment in my Penthouse Suite - when the great diva of international reknown, Torta Gwentrob, arrives in her Penthouse Suite (followed by the Male Assistants' chorus in the distance) and discovers the mini-fridge. I created this for my well-travelled friend and pianist Betty Rieley "in celebration of her 80th birthday; an encore to be followed by many, many more". |
