Program Notes:the young person's guide to convergence was written for my dear friend, the cellist David Russell. Composed of densely woven lines and harmonies, after the first performance on October 5, 2019 I was left feeling that the music needed more space and finally revisioned the entire work in details large and small in 2020. This is the first performance of the revisioned and final version November 7, 2022, at the first concert we were able to play together in three years. roger zahab

premiere of the revised version by David Russell and the composer on November 7, 2022
