Program Notes: | secret device is written for David Cerutti between November 10th and 23rd, 2000 as a birthday present. Configured in two teleports, it is registered with the Ohio entelechron network (which 'provides continuous service in all dimensions'). The opening statement of teleport a presents a vista of luxurious, troubled youth, which is gradually evened out through application of an harmonic filter. The mechanism of teleport b is unknown. The composer gave the first performance on July 6, 2008, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. |
