| Program Notes: | Twilight Air was written for violinist Robert Clark, a student of mine who at age fourteen has the wisdom of youth and knows how to enjoy summer to the fullest. It is a summer twilight that pervades the work - with the welcome coolness of air and harmony, and that combination of repose and activity that is sweet to remember in other seasons, and later years. Robert gave the first performances with me tagging along at the piano on Sunday afternoon, August 2nd, and Thursday evening, August 6th 1998 in Akron, Ohio. RZ |
